They will find a way to do what they want. Original intent was always a smokescreen and power move. Republicans are quick to proclaim themselves Christians and patriots as a declaration of superiority and matter of exclusion, something a real Christian shouldn't do out of humility and a lack of presumption.
Real patriots probably wouldn't so brand themselves for the same reasons. Whatever, but originalism is impossible to disprove so they go with that. It trumps stare decisis or they can claim it does. The courts have been the last bastion against the creeping tyranny of this unfortunate era we find ourselves in. And an institution I always respected, even when I disagreed with its rulings, I now consider completely corrupted and compromised.
So this will be the USA version of the Windrush Generation Scandal? Anyone whitout grandparents from Mayflower can be kick out of nation? And all their real estate assets will be seized by the government and sold to friends.
